The result depends on the mapped roof, solar exposure and standard modelling assumptions. It does not use your interval load, electricity tariff, roof condition, switchboard capacity or network connection limits. Treat it as a screening result, not a quote, design or financial forecast.

How much solar can a commercial roof hold?

As a first pass, every 100 m² of clear commercial roof supports roughly 15–20 kW of solar with modern panels — before allowing for access paths, skylights, plant and shading. The snapshot maps the actual roof outline and applies conservative coverage and derate factors rather than assuming the whole roof is usable.

How accurate is an indicative snapshot?

It is a screening result, not a quote. Roof area comes from mapped building outlines and generation uses PVGIS climate data, but the estimate does not include interval load data, the site tariff, roof condition, switchboard capacity or network export limits. Those are checked before any credible proposal.

What size system does a warehouse or workshop need?

The useful size is set by daytime electricity demand, not by roof area alone. A large roof can hold more solar than the site can use, and exported energy earns far less than energy used on site. The snapshot shows what the roof can hold; matching that to the load is the next step.

Is there a rebate for commercial solar in Australia?

Yes. Systems up to 100 kW receive an upfront discount through Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs); larger systems can earn Large-scale Generation Certificates (LGCs) over time.
